Danese Milano Undici, Stella silkscreen printing

Designed in 1972 and reprinted in 2013, Undici, Stella is part of Enzo Mari's Sei simboli sinsemantici series, a project developed to explore the use of elementary visual symbols as accessible artistic images. The series features six deliberately simple and universal graphic signs, designed to go beyond the traditional concept of a unique work of art.

Through the use of screen printing, Mari transforms a simple star shape into a powerful visual symbol characterised by clarity and reduction. The strong black shape on the white background emphasises the purity of the sign, reflecting Mari's belief that design is a language capable of communicating ideas through essential forms.
