Danese Milano Giglio letter opener

Giglio is the letter opener designed by Enzo Mari for Danese Milano, part of the so-called "experimental production" that began with Benbecula and Ameland. The project explores simple cutting and bending processes applied to polished spring steel, resulting in a smooth, continuous form free of sharp edges — a rigorous reinterpretation of the shaped profile that defines the traditional letter opener archetype.

A single strip of steel folds back on itself to create a comfortable, intuitive handle, making the object easy to grip while echoing the essential geometry of its functional predecessors. Measuring 280 × 30 × 60 mm, Giglio is a refined and uncompromising design object that elevates an everyday tool into a sculptural desk accessory, perfect for a well-appointed office or as a sophisticated design gift with a distinctly contemporary sensibility.
