Poltronova: Iconic Italian Radical Design Furniture

Poltronova is one of the most distinctive names in Italian Radical Design. Founded in Tuscany in 1957, the brand made experimentation part of its identity, providing a platform for new ideas, visual languages and unconventional approaches to furniture, lighting and objects for the home.

Its history is closely connected to some of the leading figures in Italian design, including Ettore Sottsass, alongside avant-garde designers and groups such as Archizoom Associati, Superstudio, Gae Aulenti and Angelo Mangiarotti. This encounter between established masters and emerging talents helped shape an extraordinarily innovative period in Italian design.

Colour, irony, experimentation and unexpected forms define Poltronova's creations. Its most recognisable icons include Ultrafragola, the Joe armchair and the modular Superonda sofa: pieces that go beyond function to become expressive protagonists of the interior.

Today, Centro Studi Poltronova continues to preserve and promote this heritage, keeping some of the brand's most significant designs in production. Discover the Poltronova collection and bring some of the most original expressions of Italian design into your interiors.
