Arco by Flos, genuine dimmable floor lamp providing direct light, with swiveling and adjustable reflector. Base in white Carrara marble, telescopic stem in satin steel and reflector in polished aluminum.
Made in 1962 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Arco is an ingenious lamp, one of the most imitated icons in the history of design that has stimulated the most varied interpretations. An experiment in which Flos immediately believed, thus creating a "timeless classic" among the best sellers ever. This visionary project, which is a synthesis of ingenuity, simplicity and perfection, was born from the need to create a suspension lamp that would project the light on the table without requiring holes in the ceiling. The heavy marble base is nothing more than a counterweight to support the large arch, and the hole made in the center of gravity of the base was designed as a device to lift the base easily, for example by inserting a simple broom handle. On the occasion of the lamp's fiftieth birthday, Flos paid tribute to it by presenting it in a new LED version alongside the classic model.
