Ingo Maurer Shhh! suspension lamp

Shhh! by Ingo Maurer, designed by the Ingo Maurer team, is a suspension lamp that combines conceptual design with visual experimentation. The project features a classic light bulb enclosed within a pair of noise-canceling headphones, creating a surprising and ironic lighting object. In reality, the visible bulb is not the true light source: the illumination is hidden inside the headphones and spreads through the glass, producing an unexpected lighting effect. This perceptual play perfectly reflects the brand’s philosophy, bringing together seemingly opposite elements in a creative balance between everyday object and luminous installation.

Thanks to its sculptural and experimental character, Shhh! becomes a striking focal point in contemporary interiors. It is ideal above a dining table, in a creative space, or in a modern living room, where the lamp acts not only as a light source but also as a conversation piece. Two integrated spotlights directed downward create focused lighting accents on the surfaces below, combining visual impact with functional illumination.
