Finn Juhl (1912–1989) was a Danish architect and designer whose work helped bring Danish Modern design to the international stage. After graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Juhl built a career in which architecture and design intertwined harmoniously. His creations, including both furniture and lighting, are distinguished by their organic forms, bold use of materials, and exceptional craftsmanship. While his contemporaries were mostly skilled cabinetmakers or students from the Royal Danish Academy under the guidance of Kaare Klint, Juhl drew inspiration from modern art and was unafraid to challenge the conventions of Danish design. Some of his creations, such as the iconic Pelican Chair, still retain a modern and contemporary appeal today.

Thanks to his work, Scandinavian design gained worldwide recognition, and his pieces continue to be celebrated and highly sought after by design enthusiasts around the globe.
