Helvar OB-1101 iDim Orbit is a standalone flush-mounted PIR sensor designed for intelligent lighting control applications. Built in white PVC, with a diameter of 66 mm and a depth of 54 mm, this compact device integrates everything needed to automate and regulate lighting in a single unit. It incorporates a passive infrared (PIR) movement detector, an ambient light sensor, a Bluetooth Smart module for configuration via smartphone or tablet, a time clock for profile scheduling, a DALI power supply with two broadcast outputs, a mains relay for switched load control, and a functional extra-low voltage (FELV) manual switch interface. A status LED flashes green each time a valid setting is received, providing clear confirmation of correct operation.

The OB-1101 is designed to be recessed into a ceiling void, ensuring seamless architectural integration with no visible protruding elements. The PIR movement detector automatically switches lights on when a space is occupied and off when it is unoccupied, supporting intelligent energy management in professional environments. An external switch can also be connected for manual override, offering maximum operational flexibility. The unit features out-of-box functionality for immediate, configuration-free use, while advanced settings can be customised through the dedicated Apple iOS mobile app. Removable connector blocks allow simple, screwless termination of mains, DALI and switch-input cables. Thanks to compatibility with the DALI system and an input voltage range of 100–240 V, this sensor suits professional installations in commercial, office and residential settings, with an IP20 protection rating.
