Coffee Table 1932 is the design table conceived, designed and created by Gio Ponti for FontanaArte. This iconic piece bears a simple name baptized with his year of birth. Gio Ponti thinks well of combining two materials such as glass and metal: the float glass is the element of the two 15mm thick discs placed on two different heights, in order of decreasing diameter from top to bottom. Both discs are supported by the supporting column - structure of the table itself - in brushed nickel-plated metal which rests on a circular base, also in the same material. The height of the table measures 61 cm, as well as the diameter of the first glass circle. These two materials put together give life to a unique design object perfect for living areas: the robustness of the metal is immediately dampened by the glass, an elegant material that recalls delicacy. The circular movement of the two support bases do nothing but give lightness to the entire design piece created by the great artist Gio Ponti.
