Designed in 1963 as part of Enzo Mari's iconic Nature Series, Tre, La Mela e la Pera explores the transformation of natural forms into universal visual symbols. Through a process of reduction and formal synthesis, Mari eliminates superfluous details to reveal the essential structure of the subject.

The apple and pear, two archetypal forms deeply rooted in the collective visual memory, are represented as bold silhouettes. Their simplified contours create an instantly recognisable and highly graphic image. By reducing the representation to its most fundamental form, Mari transforms everyday objects into timeless symbols that connect art, design and visual communication.

Printed in single-colour silkscreen on paper, the work reflects Mari's rigorous approach to visual language, in which clarity, reduction and symbolic meaning play a central role. The work belongs to the Nature Series produced by Danese Milano.
