The animal subjects of the Nature Series are the result of iconographic research that Enzo Mari developed in the early 1960s while defining the characters for the educational project Gioco delle Favole. Each subject was the result of a long process of study and reduction, aimed at obtaining an emblematic form capable of expressing a clear and recognizable visual language.
In Due Oche Grigie, Mari transforms the simple figure of two geese into a stylized graphic composition constructed through essential shapes and balanced proportions. The silhouettes are reduced to their most recognizable elements, creating an image that is both playful and symbolic. Through this process of visual simplification, the designer constructs an alphabet of institutionalized signs, where natural subjects become universal graphic icons.
Part of the ongoing reissue of Mari's iconic prints, the work brings the clarity and educational spirit of his research to contemporary interiors, demonstrating how graphic simplicity can communicate meaning, rhythm, and character.
