The animal subjects in the Nature series originate from the iconographic research that Enzo Mari developed in the early 1960s while defining the characters for the educational project Gioco delle Favole. Each figure was the result of a long process of simplification aimed at creating clear and recognizable shapes capable of forming an alphabet of visual symbols.

In Agnellino, Mari reduces the lamb to its essential silhouette, transforming a natural subject into a universal graphic sign. The minimal composition and delicate use of color reflect the designer's search for clarity and symbolic meaning, transforming the image into a playful yet refined visual element, suitable for both educational and domestic environments.
