In the world of contemporary design, few names evoke such a powerful and unconventional vision as Gaetano Pesce. Architect, artist and designer, Pesce has always rejected conventions to embrace a personal, poetic and provocative language, capable of challenging the dominant aesthetic and industrial logic.
His collaboration with Meritalia, an Italian excellence in the production of designer furniture, has then given life to a series of new objects, collected in the Edizione del Pesce: a collection that moves between art and design, between project and gesture, between functionality and narration. Let's discover it in more detail!
This series represents a perfect example of multidisciplinary design, in which each object is the result of a creative tension between the design idea and serial production. In fact, the collection does not want to standardize, but rather celebrate uniqueness and imperfection.
Each piece, whether it is a mirror, a vase or a lamp, carries with it a story and a personality of its own, thanks to malleable materials such as colored resins, which make each piece different from another. In a world where seriality often impoverishes the meaning of objects, the Edizione del Pesce restores value, emotion and identity.
Among the most iconic protagonists of the collection is Mirror, the wall mirror available in different colors and sizes. Far from any idea of geometric rigidity, Mirror presents itself as a fluid organism, with soft shapes and intense colors. Its surfaces are never completely flat or predictable, and return a reflection that is at the same time real and distorted, as if to suggest that reality can, and must, be seen from multiple perspectives.
Mirror is also available in various sizes and shades, from yellow to orange, and from blue to black. Perfect for contemporary environments, it is an object that goes beyond the practical function to become a true focal point, capable of transforming a space with the sole force of its presence.
Senzafine is a storage vase that comes in three main shapes, oval, square and round, and in a wide range of bright colors. But calling it a vase is reductive: Senzafine is a symbolic container, an object open to multiple interpretations, perfect as a centerpiece, a pocket emptier or as a sculpture.
Made of extruded polyurethane, each piece stands out for its slight chromatic variations and the translucent effect that creates interesting plays of light. The available colors range from black, blue, green, yellow and red.
Each shape and color therefore tells a different story, making Senzafine a versatile and surprising complement, ideal for those looking for an artistic and functional touch for their home or contractor area.
Alda is the table lamp that perhaps most directly represents Pesce's poetics: emotion, color, freedom. Its shapes are deliberately irregular, as if they had been sculpted in the urgency of a creative idea. The available versions vary in size, allowing for both decorative and functional use.
The light diffused by Alda is also warm, soft, intimate, in fact the colored resin acts as a filter that envelops the environment in a welcoming and almost fairy-tale atmosphere, while the details are in lacquered wood and metal. Alda is therefore a perfect object for spaces that require a strong but never invasive luminous presence. Finally, it is available in large and small formats.
Chadore is a table lamp that recalls in its shape the image of a veil, a curtain that protects and reveals light at the same time. Available in black or multicolored, it adapts with great style to modern or eclectic interiors. Furthermore, the surface, always in hand-cast resin, creates irregular and unique reflections, which make each lamp different from the other.
Chadore is in fact the ideal object for those who love design that speaks without shouting, that dialogues with space with grace and personality.
Candelabre is inspired, as the name suggests, by the archetype of the candelabra. But Pesce's reinterpretation overturns its historical rigidity, transforming it into a lively table lamp, available in different colors including black, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Candelabre is also an object that blends tradition and experimentation, memory and invention, whose light is warm and enveloping, perfect for creating intimate, almost sacred atmospheres.
The Salvatore table lamp is a strong presence, a compact and welcoming volume, which almost seems to embrace the light source. The colors, always intense and deep, then help to underline its strong personality and in fact it is a lamp that gets noticed. Available in red/yellow and blue/orange shades, Salvatore is a protagonist lamp that also knows how to harmonize perfectly with the environment, never appearing out of place.
Other ideas for table lamps are these 4 visual stories: Some of Us, Friend, Love and Ghost. Each piece brings with it a message, an emotion, a symbolic reference that enriches the experience of use. Some of Us celebrates collectivity, the coexistence of differences; Friend is a lamp that inspires trust, familiarity; Love is a hymn to affection and passion while Ghost plays with transparency and memory, evoking light and poetic presences.
In conclusion, Meritalia’s Edizione del Pesce is not a simple collection of furnishing objects: it is an experience, an exploration of matter, light and meaning. Choosing one of these pieces means bringing into your home or into your environment, a fragment of vision, an author’s gesture, a living idea of design that resists standardization. Buying today means collecting a work destined to last over time, capable of exciting every day.
