Description

The Genni chaise longue, designed by Gabriele Mucchi in 1935 and added to the Zanotta catalogue in 1982 as part of its re-edition collection, is a piece of rationalist design with a slender, elegant line. The frame is made of curved, chromium-plated steel tubing, also available in natural or black satin-nickel finish or in orange or black lacquer, a material symbolic of the language used by early twentieth-century rationalist designers. Steel spring coils support the seat and backrest, which are adjustable to two positions to suit different relaxation needs.

Ideal for a living room with a refined character or for a study space that welcomes the formal elegance of rationalist tradition, Genni combines comfort and contemporary appeal in a timeless object. The seat cushion and headrest, padded in polyurethane, are upholstered in leather, which also covers the armrests, creating an elegant contrast between the coolness of steel and the softness of the covering. Although the original design dates back almost ninety years, Genni still retains a striking and lasting contemporary feel today.
