Wire Floor (1972) - Decorative floor lamp for indoor environments. Cylindrical wire structure in chromed steel, hemispherical lampshade in white plastic. Complete with power cable.
The Wire floor lamp, made by Verner Panton in 1972, fascinates with its extraordinary construction principle. A precise cylindrical structure in chromed metal wire, made without welding, merges with a plastic hemisphere that shields the bulb which is located in the center of a chromed metal reflector, which directs the light towards the hemisphere. Only when the light is on, the Wire lamp reveal the translucency of its shadow. The result is a completely glare-free and soft light, which gives the environment a high degree of comfort. The plastic hemisphere is removable, so that the bulb can be easily inserted or replaced.
