&Tradition Topan VP14 floor lamp

&Tradition Topan VP14 is a floor lamp by Danish brand &Tradition, rooted in one of the most recognisable icons of Nordic design: the Topan shade, originally conceived in 1959 by Verner Panton, reinterpreted here in a floor lamp version with a fresh formal perspective. The defining concept is the mounting of the iconic shade — turned from a single piece of aluminium — onto a cylindrical base in custom-cut extruded acrylic, whose edges are flame-polished to achieve a smooth, transparent finish, creating the visual effect of a diffuser floating just above the floor.

Originally designed to be placed against a wall to reflect light into the room, the Topan VP14 now rests freely on its base, allowing it to be oriented in any direction to guide light exactly where needed. With its compact proportions — 46.5 cm in height and 21 cm in diameter — and its sculptural character, it brings timeless Scandinavian design to the living room as well as the bedroom. The lamp is designed to accommodate an LED light source with E26/E27 fitting, up to a maximum of 12W (bulb not included), and comes with a 300 cm fabric power cord. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for indoor use only. A further distinctive feature lies in its construction philosophy: all Topan lamps are fully disassemblable without the use of adhesives, making repair and end-of-life recycling straightforward, in keeping with principles of sustainability.
