The TCI EPC/2 TWIN CAP is an electronic ballast for discharge lamps designed for independent use, compatible with 35W and 70W metal halide lamps. Built in PVC with a protection degree of IP20, it operates at an input voltage of 220-240V 50/60Hz and features a double terminal cover with Wieland (ST-18) connector.
With energy efficiency class A2, this TCI electronic ballast delivers up to 25% energy savings compared to conventional ballasts, along with a 50% increase in lamp lifespan, making it the preferred choice for professional and commercial installations requiring reliability and cost efficiency.
The ballast operates at an operating frequency of 173 Hz with an allowed load capacity between 20 and 120 pF. The maximum cable length for lamp connection is 1 metre. Input and output are located on the same side, with push-wire spring terminals with lever opening from 0.75 to 2.5 mm². Mounting is via slots for M4 screws. The compact dimensions — 163-170.5 x 83 x 32 mm — simplify installation. Wiring must use silicone double-insulation cable rated for 5 kV pulses. The unit is shielded against radio interference and suitable for luminaires in protection class I and II.
The TCI EPC/2 incorporates comprehensive protection: against mains overvoltage, lamp disconnection, lamp failure, and end-of-lamp-life conditions, ensuring maximum operational safety.
Ideal for luminaires with metal halide lamps using G12, PG12-2, G8.5, E27 and RX7s caps, it is suited for commercial, retail, museum and professional architectural lighting environments.
