Zaha Hadid (1950-2016) is considered the most important representative, in the contemporary age, of architecture declined by women: a real world-renowned archistar, the first woman to win the Pritzker Prize in 2004, however she began her career as artist and has often dealt with furniture and product design.

Born in Baghdad in 1950, she studied mathematics at the American University of Beirut before emigrating to England in 1972 to attend courses at the Architectural Association. After graduating in 1976, she continued to attend the Architectural Association circles as a lecturer, until 1987. Finally, in the capital of the United Kingdom, the Anglo-Iraqi designer founded her first professional studio in 1979 called Zama Hadid Architects (ZHA).
