In 1983, together with Carlo Urbinati, Vecchiato designed and developed the first line of lamps intended for mass production. These models, which blend blown glass with contemporary design culture, mark an important step in the company's history. In 1988, together with Urbinati, he acquired a majority stake in Foscarini, initiating new collaborations with many designers, as well as researching new technologies and materials to complement glass.
