Ideata nel 1977 da Vico Magistretti, Atollo da molti anni è un'icona, uno dei simboli più accettati nel mondo del design, archetipo della lampada da tavolo che vince il Compasso d'Oro nel 1979 entrando a far parte delle collezioni permanenti dei maggiori musei, e rivoluziona completamente il modo di immaginare la classica abat-jour. Le forme geometriche che la compongono - il cilindro, il cono e la semisfera - hanno dato vita ad un prodotto decorativo ed essenziale; il paralume emisferico dirige la luce verso il basso sulla superficie del piano, creando un'accentuazione indiretta e piacevole nell'ambiente.

Atollo 236, the smallest version of the family, is made of blown opal Murano glass, and has a direct and diffused light emission. The light source is 2 LED bulbs of max 40W with E14 socket plus 1 LED bulb of max 25W, included. The lamp is switched on via a double switch:
