Oluce Acrilica, limited edition of the historic table lamp from 1962, suitable for use in indoor environments. Portoro marble base and Perspex diffuser. Integrated LED light source.
In 1962, the historic designer Joe Colombo created 281 for Oluce for the first time, the only project carried out jointly with his brother Gianni. The model born simply as 281, will later be nicknamed "Acrylic", recalling the main material of this object and the extraordinary use made of it with the 281. In fact, methacrylate, already used for about a decade in the lighting field, finds a very special use here. The shape and the important thickness of the curve that makes up the Acrylic allows, thanks to the conduction properties, that the light of a bulb contained inside the base, goes up along the transparent body arriving to illuminate the head.
Acrilica 281 limited edition table lamp with indirect and diffused light emission. Portoro marble base and Perspex (methacrylate) diffuser. The light source is LED with 3W power, included. Acrilica won the gold medal at the XIII Triennale di Milano in 1964.
