Memphis dish Indivia

Indivia by Memphis is a ceramic serving plate signed by Ettore Sottsass, which mixes irony and minimalism. Entirely white, it is decorated with black graphic motifs that evoke fragments of architectural drawings. The essential, monochrome aesthetic contrasts with the name of the dish, evoking surreal associations with the plant world. The decoration is not directly linked to the subject evoked by the name, but invites a game of cross-references and interpretations, perhaps alluding to what will be served or the idea of vegetables as a side dish. The design, despite its simplicity, is charged with meaning and offers a reflection on the relationship between form, function and imagination.
