Memphis California carpet

Nathalie Du Pasquier's California carpet, created in 1983, is a fusion of visual stimuli that mix past and present, craftsmanship and industry. The design features a bold pattern with black spots on a blue background, red triangles, white squares with black dots and yellow and red stripes in the centre. The geometric shapes, positioned along a coloured border, appear chaotic but are actually perfectly balanced, creating a unique composition that reflects the typical Memphis style. Handmade from Tibetan wool, each piece is slightly different in size and colour.
