Designer: Michael Geldmacher - 2017
Suju LED suspension ceiling lamp, with direct light emission, swiveling and height adjustable by rotation. Electric wire in rope, white opal methacrylate diffuser.
The idea behind Martinelli Luce's Suju was to obtain a lamp that was adjustable, playful and minimal at the same time. The real peculiarity, explains the designer Michael Geldmacher, is to obtain with the same wire the dual function of suspension and power supply of the lamp. A red line divides the space while a white cylinder illuminates it. It is adjustable in height along the wire with a simple movement, by rolling or unrolling the cable on the body of the lamp, a different solution of adjustability. Suju is a ceiling lamp with direct light emission, with an integrated 8W LED source, a luminous flux of 720 Lm that develops a light temperature of 3000K (warm light), and with the lower support equipped with a cable with an electric power supply plug. The Suju is inspired by the performance of a tightrope walker who, defying gravity, moves along the rope and suspended in mid-air remains in perfect balance and then whirls up and down on the rope.
