"The Cobra 50 project fascinated us from the first moment, first of all for the occasion of having personally met Elio Martinelli, a true genius of form and light. The idea of intervening on one of his icons made our hands tremble, but with great humility we began to develop ideas that highlighted the original characteristics. The generating shape, the sphere, alongside minimal graphics led us to the black 8 ball for billiards and we played ironically with the fiftieth year".
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cobra lamp, Martinelli Luce decided to have his character interpreted by the designers who collaborate with Martinelli, through the creation of a graphic texture to be applied to the lamp body. A tribute from all of them to Elio Martinelli, who designed the lamp in 1968. 23 creations in a limited edition of 30 signed and numbered specimens.
