Louis Poulsen VL 56 suspension lamp

Functionalist architect Vilhelm Lauritzen designs this collection for the Folkets Hus building in Vesterbro Copenhagen, established for the Danish Workers' Movement and opened in 1956, disused and currently used as a concert hall. The entire building was designed by Lauritzen down to the smallest detail and the VL 56 pendant lamp is one of the lamps designed for the building and currently hangs in the wooden bar. Both variants, chrome and inductor, were reintroduced in 2023 with minor changes and improvements.

Concept - Emits glare-free direct downward light. The radial hole pattern around the opening creates a smooth transition between light and dark. The holes create a soft and pleasant light effect both on the screen and on the surrounding surfaces.

Materials: Screen, tube and cover in polished untreated brass or chromed aluminium.

Mounting: White fabric cable. Cable length: 4m.

Class: IP20 protection degree. Electric shock protection II without grounding.

Light source: 1x 6W E27 (not included) - NOT dimmable

NB: Brass surfaces are not treated. This means that the surface will change over time and develop a patina.
