Louis Poulsen "The Water Pump" PH 3/2 Limited Edition 2019

In the 1950s, Louis Poulsen introduced a new reading lamp from the famous Danish designer Poul Henningsen. This model has been renamed "The Water Pump", thanks to the presence of the arm that allows you to adjust the lamp up and down. To celebrate Henningsen's legacy, the PH 3/2 floor lamp in amber glass is part of Louis Poulsen's 2019 PH Limited Edition.

The Water Pump has maintained Henningsen's famous three-screen system since 1926, which was invented to reduce glare and increase illumination in its lamp designs. The screens are made of hand-blown amber-colored glass, which produces a warm, inviting light. The base, stem and arm are made of untreated brushed brass which increases the feeling of authenticity of the Water Pump to create a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere in any interior. The switch is a reference to Henningsen's 1927 table lamps. In brushed brass, the rocker switch is located at the end of the arm. Poul Henningsen's initials are engraved under the switch. Even when it is off, the sculptural Water Pump PH 3/2 lamp continues to play a dynamic role by reflecting the surrounding environment on its surfaces. It is perfect as a floor lamp to be placed near the window, in a living room, bedroom or office.

Concept - The luminaire was designed based on the principle of three reflective screens. Most of the diffused and low beam light is directed downwards. The angle of the light can be adjusted via the arm. The amber tone and the glossy external surface of the screens, together with the satin sandblasted lower part, make the light emitted soft and diffused.

Materials: Three-layer mouth-blown amber-colored glass, polished on the outside and sandblasted on the inside. Fixing plate, stem and arm in untreated brushed brass.
