Louis Poulsen PH Artichoke D840

Louis Poulsen PH Artichoke D840 is one of the most iconic pendant lamps in the history of design, conceived by Danish master Poul Henningsen in 1958 for the Langelinie Pavilion in Copenhagen. Its origins trace back to the PH Septima project developed between 1927 and 1931, from which Henningsen drew the founding concept of glare-free light diffusion. The Ø840 version is the largest diameter option in the entire collection, featuring a structure in aluminium with laser-cut steel leaves mounted on a chrome-plated or laser-cut steel frame, with a polished chrome suspension.

Seventy-two metal leaves are arranged in 12 rows of 6 leaves each, creating the distinctive artichoke shape that distributes light both inward and outward, ensuring completely glare-free illumination regardless of the viewing angle. With its striking dimensions — 840 mm in diameter and 720 mm in total height — this pendant is ideally suited to large, prestigious spaces such as the living room or reception areas, lending them an unmistakable aesthetic identity. Available finishes include copper, white, black, stainless steel and brass, making it adaptable to a wide range of architectural contexts.

The lamp is equipped with an LED light source and a driver integrated into the canopy, which is included in the package, with a 4 m cable (2 x 1 mm² cross-section). The system is compatible with 100–240 V input voltage (EU, AUD, USA, UK, JAP) and meets insulation class I with an IP20 protection rating. Several light source options are available: E27/26 100W version (bulb not included), LED 2700K DALI, LED 2700K Bluetooth Wireless, LED 3000K DALI and LED 3000K Bluetooth Wireless.
