Louis Poulsen Rumee 220 Portable battery lamp

Louis Poulsen Rumee 220 Portable is a battery-powered portable lamp designed by Gabriel Tan for Louis Poulsen. Its name is a playful blend of the Danish word "rum" — meaning space or room — and the English "me", while also echoing the sound of "roomie", the informal term for a roommate: the idea of a quiet companion that brings warmth and comfort to any space. The structure is crafted from injection-moulded technopolymers, with shade, base and diffuser merging into a sculptural design inspired by the soft curves of a broad, generous hat — an organic reference to shapes found in the natural world.

The Rumee 220 Portable is designed to move gracefully between different settings: from the living room to the bedroom, through to outdoor areas, thanks to its IP44 protection rating that makes it suitable for exterior use. The slightly tilted head directs light both downward and forward, expanding the beam angle, while the integrated diffuser ensures soft, glare-free illumination with a 360-degree ambient glow. The integrated 2W LED delivers warm light at 2700K with an excellent CRI90 colour rendering index and an average lifespan of 50,000 hours. The 3-level dimming function (10% – 33% – 100%) allows the light intensity to be adjusted to suit the desired atmosphere. The rechargeable and replaceable Li-Ion 18650 3100 mAh battery provides up to 46 hours of autonomy at minimum brightness, 15 hours at 33% and 5 hours at full power, with recharging via the included 1.5 m USB/USB-C cable. The compact dimensions — 243×223×220 mm, base 91×86 mm — and comfortable grip make it easy to carry from one space to another. Available in cloud white, earth grey and night blue with a glossy finish, it complements any interior style. The lamp is supplied with a USB cable but without an adapter.
