The screens are made of three-layer hand-worked opal glass, glossy in the upper part and opaque sandblasted in the lower part in such a way as to distribute a soft and diffused light. The PH 4½-3½ Glass Terra consists of a top screen of approximately 45 cm, in its current form it was introduced in 1990.
The PH 4½-3½ Glass Terra is part of the 3-screen family which today includes 30 lamps, three of which are for outdoor use. Henningsen has therefore not only designed a lamp, but an entire system: around a thousand different models have been produced over the years. This large collection consisted of table, floor and wall lamps, as well as several chandeliers, very popular in the 1930s, to illuminate private homes with high ceilings.
