PH 3½-3 in this exclusive version features amber-colored mouth-blown glass screens that accentuate its organic shape combined with a brass structure.
The beauty of Poul Henningsen's legacy, a legacy that is an integral part of Louis Poulsen's story, lies in the continued relevance and adaptability of his designs. To celebrate Henningsen's ingenious play of light, Louis Poulsen launches a limited edition of his PH 3½-3 pendant light, originally designed in 1926.
An exclusive collector's item that inspires and excites, the PH 3½-3 Amber Glass Limited Edition evokes the history of the brand, as well as the enormous influence exerted by the designer in the field of interior lighting. Poul Henningsen devised the iconic three-screen system, associated with Poulsen's PH range, in 1926 as he sought a way to reduce the harshness of electric light, an emerging technology at the time. The pendant is made of single-layer Italian hand-blown glass, featuring an amber glossy surface on the outside that contrasts beautifully with the sandblasted matte underside, helping to soften and diffuse the light. Rounding out the fixture is a brushed brass pendant, which naturally patinates if left untreated, adding further character to the piece.
Concept - he luminaire was designed based on the principle of three reflective screens. Most of the diffused and low beam light is directed downwards. The amber tone and the glossy external surface of the screens, together with the satin sandblasted lower part, make the light emitted soft and diffused.
