Limited edition of his PH 3/2 table lamp. This exclusive version features amber-colored hand-blown Italian glass screens that accentuate its organic shape combined with a brass structure.
The structure recalls that of the 1927 PH table lamp. It is made of brass with a slightly brushed surface whose lines follow the contours and shape of the lamp. If not polished, untreated brass will develop a patina over time that will make it unique. The amber-colored glossy outer surface and the satin-sanded lower part of the limited edition improve light distribution, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The switch is a reference to the 1927 Henningsen table lamps. In brushed brass, the rocker switch is positioned on the stem, near the base. Henningsen's initials are engraved under the switch. Louis Poulsen and Poul Henningsen began producing blown colored glass lamps in the late 1920s. Then as today, with their warmth and individuality that underline the beauty of the craftsmanship, the naturally variable colors have won over a large audience. The uniqueness of each lamp is the result of the individual glass processing of each individual screen which, in addition to being a work of art, is a functional complement to the spaces we love most. Glass screens have the benefit of letting light pass through them, causing it to spread downwards, outwards and upwards, contributing to the general lighting of the environment. The delicate golden light is a reminder of the past, of the times when people lived by candlelight - an experience that Henningsen was proud to recreate and expand when he worked to adapt electric light to human needs. Even when it is off, the sculptural PH 3/2 table lamp continues to play a dynamic role by reflecting the surrounding environment on its surfaces. Its compact size makes it perfect as a table lamp, to be placed near the window, on the bedside table or on the desk.
Concept - The luminaire was designed based on the principle of three reflective screens. Most of the diffused and low beam light is directed downwards. The screens were made of hand-blown Italian glass. The amber tone and the glossy external surface of the screens together with the satin sandblasted lower part make the light emitted soft and diffused. The stem and base are made of untreated brushed brass which will tend to darken if not polished.
