Louis Poulsen PH 2/2 Question Mark, adjustable table lamp for indoors. Mouth-blown opal glass lampshades, brushed brass structure.
Designer: Poul Henningsen - Limited Edition 2021
Poul Henningsen designed the original PH 2/2 Question Mark lamp in 1931, based on his three lampshade system (from 1926) which perfectly combined direct downward light without glare, with pleasant upward light. The lamp was given the name Question Mark due to the expressive curvature of the stem, and was originally produced until the mid-1950s, in brass and with different shades of colored glass.
This autumn, Louis Poulsen launches the PH 2/2 Question Mark in Limited Edition, made of brushed brass and mouth-blown opal glass lampshades, which continues to excite with its handcrafted details. The structure has been left untreated as in the original 1931 lamp, allowing it to acquire a beautiful patina to enhance the authentic appearance of the table lamp over time. The Question Mark is a true tradition of creating glare-free light and quality craftsmanship, with functionality.
A toggle switch is positioned on the stem near the base, along with a brown fabric cable that completes the exclusive design and emphasizes its effortless elegance. The initials of Poul Henningsen (PH) are beautifully and discreetly engraved on the stem.
Remaining faithful to the original and still current design for contemporary living, the function and flexibility of the table lamp are revealed through the elegant handle located in the center of the curvature of the stem, with which the upper part of the lamp can be adjusted by tilting it 45° to the right or left by turning the handle. In this way it is possible to ensure comfort and direct the light wherever it is needed.
The PH 2/2 Question Mark easily adapts to any space in the home or office, thanks to its relatively small diameter. However, the characteristic "question mark" shape and the beautiful shades of the opal glass add a rich and distinctive dimension to the surrounding environment.
The Limited Edition of the PH 2/2 Question Mark will be available starting September 1st (with estimated delivery from mid-October).
