Nyhavn Wall - Applique lamp with downward diffuser, for outdoor environments. Structure in aluminum or copper, and glass. Available in Copper or White finishes.
The Nyhavn outdoor wall lamp was designed in 1976. Nyhavn won a prize in a competition for the lighting of ancient and historic urban areas, organized by Louis Poulsen; Alfred Homann had worked on the design and models prior to the competition, and when he decided to collaborate with his colleague , they were able to submit the material in just five days. Homann explains the idea behind the wall lamp: It was important that the fixture was smaller and more discreet than other products on the market at the time. The lamp is characterized by a cone-shaped screen and three anti-glare rings that emit a soft light, also directed upwards.
Concept - The conical shaped screen guarantees a comfortable light directed downwards with a wide beam. The inside of the screen has a matt white painted surface, which ensures even light distribution. The rings ensure control of light dispersion and direct a small amount to the top and side of the screen for self-illumination.
