Louis Poulsen FJ Elements suspension lamp

Louis Poulsen FJ Elements is a suspension lamp with a distinctive historical character, designed by the celebrated Danish architect Finn Juhl (1912–1989). Originally conceived in 1963 and reintroduced in 2025 with a renewed range of finishes, this pendant takes its name from Juhl's own hand-drawn sketches, in which he described it as composed of separate elements. The structure features deep-drawn aluminium shades and a die-cast aluminium lamp holder cover, paired with a polycarbonate diffuser that delivers soft, glare-free illumination. The geometric lines and material simplicity are complemented by an inventive design detail: the lower shade can rotate around the upper shade, allowing the light direction to be adjusted freely while simultaneously altering the lamp's visual appearance.

The Louis Poulsen FJ Elements suspension lamp provides direct downward light, softened by the diffuser, while a small opening between the upper shade and the light source allows for gentle upward ambient illumination. This dual emission, combined with the rotatable shade, makes it an ideal choice for enhancing a living room or a bedroom with lighting that is both functional and atmospheric. With a diameter of 250 mm and a height of 221 mm, the lamp makes an elegant yet understated presence, suited to design-oriented residential interiors as well as contemporary settings. It is available in black, white, and bi-colour grey (original grey) finishes, all matt wet-painted. The 4-metre suspension cable (2×0.75 mm² section) provides great installation flexibility, and the ceiling rose is included. The E26/E27 lampholder accepts LED sources up to a maximum of 25W, with universal voltage compatibility from 100–240 V (EU, UK, AU, US, JP). The protection rating is IP20, insulation class II. Bulbs are not included; for EU, UK, AU and CN markets an E27 bulb is recommended (1×25W), while E26 (1×25W) is available for US, KR and JP, with a maximum bulb size of Ø60×95 mm.
