Kdln Nami led suspension lamp

Nami is the Kundalini LED suspension lamp, designed by Alberto Saggia and Valerio Sommella in 2020, bringing the poetry of the ocean wave into interior lighting. The name itself — meaning wave in Japanese — reveals the inspiration behind this project: a metal and curved glass structure, marked by visible grooves running along its entire length, captures and refracts light in a way that evokes the glimmer of sunlight on water. The outcome is a piece that is at once contemporary and timeless, combining classic materials with a design of strong, distinctive identity.

Nami finds its ideal setting in spaces where the lighting concept is an integral part of the interior design: a refined living room, an elegant kitchen, or a striking bedroom. The suspension features 4 integrated 15 W LED light sources, for a total power output of 60 W and a luminous flux of 2520×2 lm, delivered via bi-directional emission: light radiates both upward and downward, enveloping the space in a soft and atmospheric glow. The colour temperature of 2700 K produces warm, welcoming light, while a colour rendering index greater than 90 ensures that fabrics, surfaces and materials are reproduced with outstanding chromatic fidelity. The 1/10 Volt dimming system allows precise adjustment of light intensity to suit every moment and mood throughout the day. With dimensions of 150×15×23 cm, Nami is well suited to medium and large spaces, and performs equally well in contract settings such as restaurants and hospitality venues. The power cable is transparent, 180 cm in length, and the canopy is included; wall mounting requires dowels, not supplied. The integrated driver supports input voltages from 100 to 240 V, making it compatible with any electrical system. The IP20 rating confirms its use in dry indoor environments, with Class I insulation.
