Kartell Trays bookcases

Trays by Kartell, designed by Piero Lissoni, is a collection of bookcases and utility carts with a refined aesthetic inspired by the essential elegance of Japanese lacquered trays. The supporting frame is crafted in chromed or painted steel, while the shelves are made in PMMA — methacrylate — available in mass-coloured or lacquered finishes, offered in two variants. The overall design achieves a compelling balance between visual lightness and structural durability, while the easily detachable metal frame allows effortless repositioning between different rooms.

Trays is a versatile furnishing solution for the living room or the office, fitting naturally into both residential and contract settings. The collection is available in two versions: the three-shelf cart with wheels, version 4416, with a height of 72.5 cm, shelf dimensions of 80x40 cm and a weight of 13.3 kg; and the fixed three-shelf bookcase, version 4418, with a height of 82.4 cm, shelf dimensions of 140x40 cm and a weight of 32 kg. Both versions reflect Kartell's distinctive ability to transform industrial materials into refined, high-quality design objects.
