CUT PRATONE® – Limited Edition 1/9 is the result of an exclusive collaboration between Gufram and the American art collective MSCHF, created for MSCHF’s exhibition Industry Plants at Perrotin Gallery in New York.

Taking the legendary PRATONE®—designed in 1971 by Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi, and Riccardo Rosso—as their starting point, MSCHF subverts its playful radicalism with a bold and decisive gesture: slicing through its iconic green “blades” to expose the piece’s raw, blood-tinted foam core.

In CUT PRATONE®, this act of cutting becomes a conceptual operation that reactivates the provocative spirit of the original. As researcher Elizabeth Koehn notes, MSCHF’s intervention invites viewers to question the intentions, ambitions, and effectiveness of design as a tool for reshaping society.

This creative dissection is performed nine times, resulting in an extremely rare edition of just 9 pieces worldwide, each one singular and unrepeatable.
