At the end of the 80s, precisely in 1989, as his first time in the field of product design, the architect Renzo Piano created a collection of three unique products for FontanaArte using only one material in particular: glass. In this collection we find Teso Bookcase: bookcase open on the sides 2 meters high, 35 centimeters wide and 2.4 meters long. The predominant material - namely float glass - is the one that fully describes FontanaArte and precisely the one most used by the company. Overall, the 15mm thick glass plates that transform into uprights and shelves create a real monobloc, thanks to the high compression coefficient of the glass. From this compression also derives the name of the collection itself: Teso which in Italian means 'taut'. The supports used are chromed metal rods. The essential and elegant design of the Teso is represented by the clean and simple lines: this bookcase is perfect for any environment whether it is a work studio or a living area. Its classic touch that has now lasted for more than 30 years will give to all spaces distinction and good taste.
