Ashanghai, historic dimmable table lamp for indoors. Mounting and fixing joints in chromed brass. Structure in borosilicate glass tubes. Blown glass diffuser. Upper diffuser disc in sandblasted float glass. Transparent power cord, dimmer and European two-pin plug. E14 bulbs NOT included.
It was 1955 when Max Ingrand designed the glass tube construction for the Ashanghai table lamp. Five rods are held together by a chromed brass frame and joints, holding the white blown acid-etched overlay glass diffuser as if suspended. The upper disk of the diffuser is sandblasted on both sides, in sheet float glass. The interplay of Ashhanghai is formidable: an extremely elegant lamp worthy of a timeless design, greatly appreciated in those years when Ingrand became artistic director of Fontana Arte. This lamp will find space in classic or even modern indoor contexts to refine places such as studios, offices, lounges, bookshops, libraries, hall and bedroom furniture or even living rooms, ranging from residential to hospitality. Ashanghai establishes itself in history and becomes a historical lamp, a precious design object that remains unique in its kind both for the glass working technique and for the shape, of contemporary lines and tubes truncated by a more classic and chic diffuser.
Dimmer with integrated button.
E14 bulbs NOT included.
