Parolona by FontanaArte is the iconic floor lamp born in 1980 from the extraordinary collaboration between Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni. A rare example of technical integration between craftsmanship and industrial production, this design piece is built around glass — FontanaArte's signature material — worked in three distinct ways. The base is crafted in ground transparent glass, the frame in borosilicate glass, and the generous spherical diffuser in glossy colored paste blown glass, perforated at the top to allow a diffused and decentralized light emission. The base fitting is in chromed metal, while the power cord in tiger-striped fabric, the dimmer and the plug are finished in black — refined details that complete an timeless design object.

With a total height of 192 cm and a base diameter of 27 cm, Parolona commands a scenographic presence in the living room or open day areas, where its luminous sphere evokes the poetic image of a full moon suspended in the space.
