Fontana Arte Matrix LED Table Lamp

Fontana Arte Matrix is a LED table lamp designed by the duo Oskar Peet and Sophie Mensen of Studio OOS in Eindhoven, distributed by FontanaArte. The design emerges from the meeting of geometric form and luminous function: a painted metal grid structure encloses a sphere of acid-etched blown glass that diffuses light in every direction, creating a design object capable of animating any space even when switched off. The name "Matrix" evokes a combination of rows and columns, yet here the grid is enclosed within a circular ring that defines its sculptural identity. The light globe, positioned at the centre of the structure, emits a soft and diffused light, while the grid components, observed from different angles, generate transparencies and cast geometric shadows on the surrounding surfaces.

Matrix adapts with elegance to a variety of living environments: it is a scenic and refined presence in the living room, as well as in the bedroom, where its warm and enveloping light creates an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. The lamp integrates an 8W LED with a colour temperature of 2700K warm white, a CRI greater than 90 and a luminous flux of 1180 lm, ensuring high-quality light and excellent colour rendering. The dimmable function allows the light intensity to be adjusted according to need, while the power supply with interchangeable plugs (EU, UK, USA) and a compatible voltage of 100–240V make Matrix suitable for use worldwide. The power cord and plug are black, in perfect harmony with the minimalist character of the design. IP20 protection limits its use to indoor environments exclusively.

Matrix is available in two height versions, both with a diameter of Ø26 cm. The Medium version reaches a height of 30.4 cm, ideal as a compact decorative element on bedside tables or shelves. The Large version, standing at 60.7 cm tall, lends itself to placement on larger surfaces or as a primary light source on a table or console. Both versions are available in Opaque Gold and White finishes, allowing versatile pairing with a wide range of contemporary interior styles.
