Fontana Arte Matrix LED Table Lamp

Matrix is ​​a table lamp and an art object that comes from the essential design of the duo Oskar Peet and Sophie Mensen, latest generation designers of Studio OS Δ OOS (in Eindhoven). When referring to the term Matrix, we initially think of a matrix, a combination of rows and columns, while here we introduce a circle that surrounds the matrix like a ring. The design object becomes a lamp thanks to a globe of light positioned inside and centrally to the matrix, which emits a soft and diffused light in all directions. The grid structure plays with the simple and pure shape of the illuminated sphere. The components of the Matrix, when viewed from different perspectives, create transparencies and cast geometric shadows on the surrounding surfaces. The idea derives from architectural constructions and solutions for multipurpose situations, that is, from the concept of form that meets function.
