Fontana Arte Luminator floor lamp

Luminator by FontanaArte is one of the most iconic works in twentieth-century Italian design. Conceived by Pietro Chiesa in 1932 — the very year he became artistic director of FontanaArte alongside the great Gio Ponti — this dimmable LED floor lamp is widely regarded as the first floor lamp ever designed with indirect light emission. Its structure consists of a slender metal shaft that opens upward in a cone, concealing the light source within and directing light toward the ceiling for a soft, enveloping diffusion.

Luminator rests on a circular base with a diameter of 310 mm and stands 184 cm tall, making it a sculptural element capable of transforming any space with its understated yet powerful presence. It is a piece of design history that, despite its origin, feels remarkably contemporary. Perfect for the living room or the bedroom, it integrates effortlessly into both classic and minimalist or contemporary interiors. The integrated 30 W LED source delivers a luminous flux of 3000 lm at a colour temperature of 3000 K (warm white) and a CRI greater than 80, ensuring excellent light quality. The dimmable function, controlled via a floor-mounted push button included in the supply, allows precise adjustment of light intensity to suit every atmosphere. The power cable, dimmer and plug are all in black; the plug is interchangeable and compatible with the main international standards (EU, USA, UK, Australia, Japan), with a universal input voltage of 100–240 V. The lamp is supplied complete with an integrated bulb, with a protection rating of IP20 and insulation class II. Available in Satin Nickel and White finishes.
