Cartoccio is a sandblasted natural colored vase designed and created by Pietro Chiesa for FontanaArte in 1932. The beauty of this vase lies in its shape which recalls a real slender, elegant and unique cartoccio which also resembles an upside down veil. Pietro Chiesa was a master of glass, the preferred material of the FontanaArte company. To create Cartoccio - as well as Cartoccio Q - the designer sees fit to use the technique of hot bending a single glass plate to give birth to a vase with inimitable lines. In fact, each slab that makes up the vase is folded manually. This choice makes each Cartoccio exclusive and original. The vase is available in two sizes Small or Large and in the only opal white colour.
