Skynest is the latest creation by the Marcel Wanders studio for Flos, which by weaving filaments of light perfectly combines elegance and technical innovation. Skynest has the typical suspension shape, with a central core and with what, at first glance, looks like a lampshade. However, the light is not emitted by a light bulb or an LED board, but by the elements that make up the structure of the lampshade: LED strips covered in fabric. Delicate textile tubes, integrated with LED lights, are woven throughout the design of the lamp, creating a unique surprise element that challenges the archetype of bulb lighting. This wonderfully innovative lamp is available in four different colors and in addition, the fabric used for Skynest comes from recycled polyester and is completely recyclable. The micro connectors allow the replacement of every single light source. The lamp is completely removable for repairs, replacement and proper recycling.
Skynest is made up of a total of 72 fabric elements, 24 of which have a flexible LED strip that emits a perfect light without "dots" and completely replaceable at the end of its life. The electronics of the lamp are located in the upper part, while the driver is housed in the ceiling rose (possibility to set the dimmer to 1-10V, DALI or Push). It is suitable for all environments as its structure is delicate but with great presence in the spaces.
