Flos Real Matter is an outdoor recessed wall luminaire designed by Piero Lissoni for Flos Outdoor, available in an elegant brushed gold finish. The body is crafted in AISI 316L stainless steel treated with a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) process: following the brushing phase, the surfaces are coated with a thin film of metals such as zirconium and titanium which bond with the steel at a molecular level, enhancing both mechanical resistance and weather durability to produce refined and exceptionally long-lasting finishes. The UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser completes a structure designed to withstand demanding environmental conditions, backed by an IP65 protection rating.

Perfect as a steplight or decorative element in high-end outdoor settings, the Real Matter brushed gold combines technical performance with understated elegance in a compact format — width 115 mm, height 150 mm, depth 15/3 mm. The 3 W LED light source operates at 24 V AC/DC, with a CRI80 colour rendering index and the option to select a light temperature of either 2700K or 3000K. The 24V electronic driver, not included, can be installed remotely or housed behind the fixture in the dedicated formwork. The luminaire is supplied with two outgoing power cables (L 2000 mm) and an IP-sealed connection kit, with voltage compatibility for EU, Australia, USA, UK and Japan. The Real Matter is available in three distinct installation versions: in masonry or concrete with a recessed box to be ordered separately; in plasterboard walls using the included springs, suitable for surface thicknesses between 5 and 20 mm; or in masonry or concrete without formwork, glued directly onto the surface using an adhesive selected by the installer according to the substrate material. Insulation class III ensures additional safety for low-voltage operation.
