Flos Parentesi Dimmable Black is one of the most celebrated icons of Italian industrial design, conceived by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù for Flos. The lamp takes its name from the distinctive steel and elastomer tube shaped like a parenthesis — the central element that slides vertically along a steel cable tensioned between ceiling and floor, allowing the lighting body to be repositioned with a simple press of the hand. A manifesto of the form=function principle, it was awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1979 and is today exhibited at the Design Museum of the Milan Triennale.

This black finish version is dimmable via an electronic dimmer integrated on the cable, allowing step-by-step adjustment of light intensity with ease.
