The new Oplight W2 wall lamp, designed by Jasper Morrison (2021), is the demonstration that it is possible to create a technologically advanced product that respects the environment. Despite the minimum thickness, no glues were used to assemble the components: in this way the various parts are separable from each other, replaceable and recyclable. First of all, the shell is made of die-cast aluminum, a light but resistant material, powder coated (for a lower environmental footprint). The 25W LED board inside Oplight is highly efficient, in fact it emits a considerable amount of light but at low consumption, with a life of about 50,000 hours, and is completely replaceable, because it is not glued to the diffuser. The diffuser, transparent with also the function of lens, is made of injection polycarbonate and thanks to its elasticity it is fixed with snap-fits, so that it can be disassembled and reassembled if necessary. Oplight is available in black, metallic gray and anthracite finishes. It can be used in an apartment, in a high-ceilinged house, or in an office corridor, as it adds to the atmosphere without being too flashy or intrusive.
