Driade MT2 sofa

Driade MT2 is a monobloc polyethylene sofa designed by Ron Arad for Driade. The name "MT" — pronounced empty in English — captures the defining concept of the entire collection: the volume is hollowed out to reveal its interior, finished in two distinct colours. This two-tone effect is achieved through a double step in rotational plastic production: polyethylene in the colour of the outer shell is first fed into the mould; once this layer is formed, a second colour is introduced and made to adhere to the first without the two polymers melting during the high-temperature process. A five-axis laser then cuts the lateral edges, unveiling the distinctive two-colour finish that defines MT2.

Thanks to its monobloc construction and the durability of polyethylene, the MT2 sofa is equally suited to indoor and outdoor use, making it a versatile choice for the living room and open-air spaces alike. Its dimensions — 180 cm in width, 85 cm in height, 85.4 cm in depth, and a seat height of 42 cm — make it a commanding yet well-proportioned furnishing element, capable of becoming the visual centrepiece of any setting.
