DCW Mantis BS2 wall lamp

DCW Mantis BS2 is the projecting wall lamp designed by Bernard Schottlander for DCW, a timeless icon from the Mantis collection conceived in 1951, deeply inspired by Alexander Calder's kinetic sculptures. The aluminium and steel structure — slender and precise in its black finish — features a counterweight system with a chain that locks the lamp in the desired position, allowing 180° rotation both horizontally and vertically. The elongated rounded diffuser, the circular counterweight housing the integrated switch, and the wall fixings together form an object that is sculptural and functional in equal measure, produced via rotational moulding for optimal ductility and structural resilience.

Mantis BS2 is an ideal choice for the living room, kitchen or bedroom, bringing a refined and historically significant design accent to any interior. Light emission is direct, with an E14 lampholder for LED sources up to max 15W, input voltage 220–240 V, insulation class II and protection rating IP20 for indoor use. Bulb not included; not dimmable. Dimensions are 450×1530 mm, with a 2 m black cable. Also available in the BS2 Mini version.
